The non-governmental organization Defense of Mariupol has said that an attack on Ukrainian army positions in Shyrokyne has killed five servicemen and injured 22.

The positions in Shyrokyne, southern Donbas, were twice attacked by tanks on Feb. 15 in spite of the ceasefire regime, it said.

“The Ukrainian army lost five men [all of them were volunteers from the Azov battalion] and 22 were injured [including four army servicemen and 18 Azov battalion servicemen],” Defense of Mariupol wrote on Facebook on Feb. 16.

The organization said that a mortar attack on the eastern outskirts of Shyrokyne began on Feb. 16 morning. “The shelling is still underway,” it said.
