The odds of resolving the Russian gas price issue under the "summer package" of agreements appear quite good at this early date, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said.

“Concerning pricing: after the end of the winter package, additional meetings will be held and I think that in the next two, at most three weeks, before April 1, this issue will be resolved,” Demchyshyn told journalists in Kyiv on March 4.

“There are several positives: firstly, they [the Russian side] are ready to discuss a discount, not only the formula, they are ready to review the cost of transit, they are ready to analyze additional payment terms, they are ready to do all of this under the aegis of the EU. This will be trilateral talks under the aegis of the European commissioner,” Demchyshyn said.
