The Embassy of Ukraine in Italy is taking all necessary measures to help 22 citizens of Ukraine, including 20 orphaned children, to return from Italy to Ukraine, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Oleksandr Dykusarov, has said.
He noted that a similar problem occurred earlier to a group of 23 Ukrainian children that visited Padua for health improvement.
Dykusarov explained that the problems occurred due to the bankruptcy of the Italian airline Wind Jet.
"While checking the situation with the children in Italy, we discovered that this group is not the only victim of the bankruptcy of the Italian airline – one more group of children is in the same situation. According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy, 22 citizens of Ukraine, including 20 orphaned children, that spent holidays with Italian families in Palermo, faced difficulties returning home due to the bankruptcy of the Italian airline," he said.
According to him, the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy jointly with the Italian side is taking all necessary measures to return the children back to Ukraine. The children are to return to Ukraine on Aug. 31.
