You're reading: Dnipropetrovsk allocates Hr 40 million to environmental protection

The deputies of Dnipropetrovsk City Council have decided to allocate Hr 40.13 million for environmental protection in 2012.

According to this decision, money allocated in the frames of the present program for environmental protection are to be spent on the following measures: Hr 3.7 million on measures to prevent flooding of the territories along Williams and Andreychenko Streets; Hr 2.5 million – to re-cultivate lands disturbed by dumps; Hr 3 million – to maintain the functioning of drainage systems; Hr 2.2 million to take measures to prevent landslides.

A number of measures are to be taken to prevent air pollution and to maintain proper sanitary conditions of rivers at the city borders.

Moreover, the municipal executive committee foresees spending an extra Hr 7.3 million on other environmental measures.
