You're reading: Donbas cease-fire largely holds – OSCE monitor

Alexander Hug, a deputy chief monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, has said that the cease-fire in Donbas has generally held along the contact line, but fighting continues in Shyrokyne and at Donetsk airport.

“The cease-fire holds broadly along the long contact line, which, as you all know, is almost 500 kilometers long. We see that at some strategic points, such as Shyrokine or Donetsk airport, the fighting is continuing,” Hug said on March 12.

“However, this relative stability at the moment is on thin ice,” he added.
