You're reading: Donetsk City Council reports gunfire, casualties, destructions

The Trudova mine in the Donetsk Petrovsky district was under artillery fire on Aug. 20. There have been casualties and damage, the Donetsk City Council said.

“Reportedly, residential buildings have been damaged and civilians
have been hurt. The information is being verified. Fire brigades of the
Emergency Situations Ministry are at work,” it noted.

The city was erupting as of 12:30 p.m., and people in the Leninsky,
Kalininsky, Proletarsky, Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts said they
had heard the cannonade.

Power to the Verkhniokalmiuska water filtering station was restored
at noon and efforts continued to resume water supply in Donetsk. It will
take two days to fill the mains with water and to achieve the hydraulic
balance. Presumably, tap water supply will be restored by of Aug. 21.
