Donetsk - Conscripts from the Donetsk military unit camp seized by the militants on Thursday, June 26,  are free now, according to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

“We have handed over conscripts to their parents or other relatives against written acknowledgements. The soldiers were hungry for more than a day and we gave them food in the Ukrainian Security Service building,” Leonid Berezin, a deputy of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic militia commander Igor Strelkov, told Interfax.

He said Thursday was a lucky day for the ‘militia.’ “The Kalmius battalion took control of the military unit camp in Donetsk and the militia in the town of Snizhne halted a plant producing component parts for Ukrainian helicopters. Another trophy of ours is guard dogs from military unit No. 3004 in Donetsk,” Berezin said.

Officers of this military unit are staying in the Donetsk building of the Ukrainia.
