The government of the self-proclaimed 'Donetsk People's Republic' has suggested that Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov pay taxes into the budget of the new republic.

“A new state, the Donetsk People’s Republic, was formed on May 11.
The state is, among other things, taxes. This money is used to make
payments to public sector workers, socially vulnerable people, and
pensioners. Taxes are paid by enterprises, and enterprises are now de
jure property of Rinat Akhmetov. Many residents of Donbas now expect
Akhmetov to issue a statement stating his loyalty to the Donetsk
People’s Republic and respect for the sovereignty of the new territorial
entity,” Roman Manekin, a consultant for the government of the Donetsk
People’s Republic, said in a video address posted on the information
portal Novorossia.

Manekin said that “the taxes paid by Donetsk enterprises are now used
for financing bandit groups that attack Sloviansk, Mariupol, and small
cities of Donbas.”
