The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic has formed its supreme legislative body - the Supreme Council, cochairman of the republic's government Myroslav Rudenko told Interfax-Ukraine on May 14

“Today we formed the Supreme Council consisting of 150 deputies. The
popular council of the republic formed its core. Its first session
adopted a decision on the formation of the Security Council and the
draft constitutional act,” he said.

“In compliance with our constitutional act the chairman of the
presidium of the Supreme Council shall be the head of state. He will be
elected by members of the council,” Rudenko said.

He added that candidates to the post may be considered in the next few days.
