Humanitarian corridors will not be organized in the Donetsk region unless peacekeeping forces are introduced, said Denys Pushylin, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the breakaway Donetsk People's Republic.

“There is no question about humanitarian corridors unless
peacekeeping troops are introduced. The first step is needed: to remove
women and children, to stop the deaths of the old and elderly people who
cannot stand up for themselves,” Pushylin told a press conference in
Moscow on Friday, when asked about his attitude towards the peace plan
of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

He said this “requires peacekeeping troops to ensure these corridors
and the delivery of humanitarian aid – basic food and water.”

Pushylin said various pretexts are used to stop Russia’s humanitarian
aid crossing the border. “There is evidence that insulin simply
vanished,” he said.
