Moscow - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) administration is not ready to allow Ukrainian entities to arrange and hold an early local election in Donbas on Dec. 7, DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko told Interfax on Wednesday.

“We have a supreme council of our own, and we will make an independent decision as to when and which elections to hold. No elections organized by Ukraine will be held here,” he said.

Zakharchenko added he did not intend to participate in the approaching meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine.

“I do not plan to attend the Contact Group meeting,” the DPR prime minister said.

The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada passed a presidential law at a closed meeting on Tuesday. The law introduced a special self-government regime for some districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions for a period of three years and ordered an early local election to be held in these territories on Dec. 7, 2014.
