DONETSK - The first train in over a month will depart from Donetsk for Sevastopol on Sept. 25, acting transport minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Semyon Kuzmenko has told Interfax.

“We have completed the restorations. The Ukrainian army operations destroyed a part of the railroad track and infrastructure. We are now ready for the safe travel of this train. The route has been tested for magnetic mines. A freight train travelled first. A passenger train will go now. The traffic will be regular. Train tickets are available at ticket offices,” Kuzmenko said.

About 50 percent of damaged rail and infrastructure have been restored on land controlled by the DPR and traffic will reopen to another destination shortly.
