Donetsk is to host a meeting of the Ukraine-Russia-OSCE contact group on settling the situation in Donbas, the official the president's webasite on June 23.

“It is expected that the negotiations in Donetsk will involve a special
representative of the OSCE secretary general’s special envoy, Heidi
Tagliavini, and Russian Ambassador Mikhail Zurabov. On behalf of the
president, second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma will participate in
the meeting,” the report says.

Poroshenko met with the three negotiators in Kyiv before their departure for Donetsk.

“Leonid Kuchma’s participation reflects the Ukrainian president’s
high attention to this mission,” the statement quoted Poroshenko as
saying.

The statement mentioned that the trilateral group had its first
meeting on June 8. Former ambassador to Germany Pavlo Klimkin, who has
recently been appointed as Ukraine’s foreign minister, represented
Ukraine at the meeting, held in Kyiv.

“At the behest of the head of state, Pavlo Klimkin will present the
president’s peace plan for the settlement of the situation in the east
of the country at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in
Luxembourg today,” the statement said.
