The city of Dzerzhynsk is under heavy artillery fire, a statement posted on the temporary Web site of Donetsk Regional State Administration said.
“A battle has started in Dzerzhynsk. The city is under heavy artillery fire. The work of enterprises has switched to an emergency regime. Miners are being brought up to the surface,” the administration said citing information of the domestic policy department as of 1500 on July 11.
At the same time, battles continue in Shakhtarsk district in the border area. According to the agreements, a corridor has been created to evacuate residents of Dymytrivka and Stepanivka. People are brought to neighboring cities and elderly people to Donetsk.
Dzerzhynsk is 30 km from Donetsk. Kyiv said earlier that the blockade of Luhansk and Donetsk will be carried out in order to force members of armed formations to surrender.
