Ukraine intends to bring up the issue of revising the current rate for the transportation of Russian natural gas to European Union countries in negotiations with Russia, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan said.

“Sure, we will propose this, but this is a matter of negotiations,” Prodan told journalists on March 28.

To revise the price for gas transportation, the current formula stipulated by the 2009 contract between Russia’s Gazprom and the Ukrainian national energy company Naftogaz will have to be amended, he said.
