The European Union stresses the entry of the Russian humanitarian convoy into Ukraine is a clear violation of the Ukrainian border.

“This is a clear violation of the Ukrainian border, goes counter to the previous arrangements reached between Ukraine, Russia and the International Commission of the Red Cross,” Spokesperson for EU High Representative for the Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, Maja Kocijancic, wrote on Twitter.

“The EU reiterates Russia’s humanitarian assistance should be channeled in full respect of intl humanitarian law, in agreement with the Ukrainian Government,” Kocijancic wrote.

The EU urges Russia to reverse its decision and commends the Ukrainian authorities for their restraint as well as readiness for further talks,” the tweet reads.
