EU Council calls on Russia to ensure full control of its border with Ukraine in presence of OSCE observers

BRUSSELS - The European Union has called on Russia to take all the necessary measures to ensure full control and security on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

“The [EU] Council supports swift expansion and extension of the OSCE Observer Mission to Russian checkpoints to ensure effective and full control of the border by Ukraine and calls on the Russian Federation to do the same,” reads a statement released after a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Oct. 20.
