The European Commissioner for Energy, Gunther Oettinger, has written to the Russian Energy Minister, Aleksandr Novak, and Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, Yuriy Prodan, proposing a tripartite EU-Russia-Ukraine meeting on gas issues, a spokesperson for the Russian Energy Ministry told Interfax.
In his letter Oettinger proposes Russia and Ukraine to discuss the date and venue of the meeting.
The Russian Energy Ministry will have until April 23 night to prepare and send its proposals to the European commissioner, the source said.
