WARSAW, Poland — Poland's transport minister says that those travelling during next month's Euro 2012 football championship will be able to check train schedules and buy tickets using their cell phones.

Minister Slawomir Nowak said Thursday that users of phones will be able to download train travel information and purchase tickets at station in tournament’s cities: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Krakow.

A website in Polish, English and Russian, kolejna2012.pl, will help them use the system and will offer other travel guidance.

A special train connection has opened between Warsaw’s Frederic Chopin airport, the city center and the National Stadium, where the tournament, co-hosted by Ukraine, will kick off June 8.

But an alternative airport, in nearby Modlin, will not be ready on time.
