Activists of Democratic Alliance political party placed Christmas tree in front of the building of the Kyiv office of SCM
company owned by Ukraine’s richest man Rinat Akhmetov on 3A Desiatynna street
in Kyiv. They called it ‘bloody’ as they decorated the tree with the photos of
victims of brutal police beatings on Independence square on Nov.30. At 3 p.m. a similarly decorated tree will be put to 3 Riznytska St., where the office of Ukrpidshypnyk, a company owned by the head of National security council Andriy Kliuyev and his
brother Serhiy, Party of Regions deputy, is located. “Kliuyev will get the
Christmas tree as he, apparently, gave the order to disperse demonstrators,
while Akhmetov controls the majority in Party of Regions in parliament. This
majority, in particular, hasn’t fired (Mykola) Azarov’s government so far,”

There were a few hundred people by the stage in the morning, the rest have gone into tents, the Trade Union House and other places to sleep. Others were guarding the barricades and the perimeter of the camp.

At night the protesters worked to strengthen one of the barricades at Khreshchatyk and Instytutska. They welded bit of metal together before wrapping it up in barbed wire. There are still big army tents set up all along Khreshchatyk Street, all the way to the city hall, which remains under control of the protesters. —Inrerfax-Ukraine
