You're reading: European Commission to give further aid worth 250 million euros to Ukraine

BRUSSELS - The European Commission has welcomed the decision of the Council of the European Union regarding the third package of macro-financial assistance (MFA) to Ukraine worth 1.8 billion euros, which was approved on March 31.

According to the Commission’s press service, the Commission also decided to disburse a final tranche of 250 million euros under MFA 1, which is expected to take place in April.

During 2014, the Commission disbursed 1.36 billion euros in support of Ukraine under existing MFA programs.

The third program worth 1.8 billion euros will be paid out in medium-term loans in 2015 (1.2 billion euros) and 2016 (600 million euros).
