New Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fuele intend to continue dialogue between Ukraine and the EU on concluding an Association Agreement.

Kozhara and Fuele confirmed “both parties’ willingness to further deepen cooperation on all issues on the broad agenda of dialogue between Ukraine and the EU, priority among which is given to the signing of an Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and the promotion of a visa free travel dialogue,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

Fuele congratulated Kozhara on his appointment as foreign minister and wished him success in implementing Ukraine’s European integration policy.

The two also coordinated a schedule of bilateral contacts for the near future, including in the context of preparations for an EU-Ukraine summit planned for February 25, 2013.
