Yalta, September 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) - US-based Excelerate Energy has provided the Ukrainian government with a proposal on renting a floating LNG terminal that is to be placed next to Yuzhny port (Odesa region), Vice Premier Yuriy Boiko said at the tenth Yalta annual meeting on Friday.

“We have received a proposal from the company, which will build it in 12 months [will place it in Ukraine and launch it],” he said.

However, Boiko said that it is too early to comment on the details of Excelerate Energy’s proposal.

As reported, the Excelerate Energy experts after technical studies confirmed the technical possibility of placing a floating LNG terminal on the Ukrainian Black Sea coast.

According to Head of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects Vladyslav Kaskiv, the floating LNG terminal could come to Ukraine in mid-2014 and start working by the end of that year.
