Donetsk rescuers are trying to unblock the Zasiadko mine where 73 workers have been trapped by an explosion, spokesperson for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Emergency Situations Ministry Juliana Bedilo said on Wednesday.

“Reportedly, 73 people have been trapped underground. A rescue effort is underway. The incident killed one person and injured another 14,” the Donetsk news agency has quoted Bedilo as saying.

In her words, it was an explosion of an air and gas mixture. “This is not the result of an artillery attack,” she said.
