Every family that has lost a bread-winner who participated in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Ukraine's east will be paid compensation and provided with housing if needed, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

“Every family that has lost a bread-winner who participated as a serviceman will get compensation worth Hr 608,000. We’ve increased the reserve fund of the national budget with this aim in view. We’ve also allocated additional funds to ensure they have housing,” he said in an interview with leading Ukrainian TV channels on Friday.

Yatseniuk also said that the government would earmark funds under a program for the rehabilitation of injured ATO servicemen.
