The families of soldiers and participants killed in the anti-terrorist operations in the east of Ukraine will be able to get land plots free of charge in one or two months.

According to the head of the State Agency of Land Resources, Serhiy Rudyk, the corresponding initiative of the Defense Ministry was supported at a meeting of the representatives of the state land agency with the security forces in Kyiv.

‘Our task number one is within one or two months after the meeting to distribute the best land we have in Ukraine to the bereaved families,’ he said at a briefing after the meeting.

Rudyk also said that under the initiative of the land agency to provide land to the military men and participants in ATO, who have not exercised the right to the free privatization of land, as of July 4 the lists consisting of 1,800 people had been received, 1,200 of them are soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, and 600 people – representatives of the State Security Department.

However, according to him, the representatives of other law enforcement agencies for reasons of security and confidentiality of personal data of participants in ATO notified they would be able to provide the final lists of soldiers only after ATO is completed.

In connection with this, the land agency proposed the law enforcers inform their employees about the possibility of obtaining land independently and provided samples of the documents needed to obtain land, Rudyk said.
