Militants have been shelling Ukrainian government forces' positions in Triokhizbenka, Luhansk Oblast, since Saturday morning, the press service of Hennadiy Moskal, the head of the Luhansk regional military-civilian administration, reported on April 18.

“The armed clash is still continuing,” it said.

A group of militiamen has approached a destroyed bridge across the Siversky Donets River, along which the line of contact currently passes, and is shelling Ukrainian government forces’ positions with a mortar, large-caliber machineguns, and a rapid-firing anti-aircraft gun, the press service said.

The Ukrainian military are returning fire. The sounds of fighting are heard in the village and on its outskirts.

No information is so far available on possible casualties, Moskal’s press service said.
