Brussels - The first convoy with debris of the MH17 Boeing that crashed in eastern Ukraine in July is due in the Netherlands on Tuesday, Dec. 9, according to the Dutch Safety Board.

The convoy, which left Ukraine last week, will arrive at the Gilze-Rijen air base around 2 p.m., Safety Board spokeswoman Sara Vernooj told Interfax.

It would be met by relatives of some of the crash victims. However, they would not be allowed to be present at the opening and unloading of the trucks, Vernooj said.

The unloading would follow established rules, with each fragment photographed, scanned and classified. The debris would be investigated in a special hangar, Vernooj said.
