You're reading: First five trucks with German humanitarian aid arrive in Dnipropetrovsk

The first lot of German humanitarian aid, which was making for Dnipropetrovsk, has already reached its destination.

 Five trucks containing goods meant for temporarily displaced persons already came to the warehouses, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Ukraine said.

Employees of the Odesa office of the State Service of Emergency Situations of Ukraine are to finish unloading of the goods on Oct. 24, when another five trucks with humanitarian aid are expected to come.

The humanitarian aid for Dnipropetrovsk includes basic consumer goods and home improvement items, particularly mattresses for children and adults, refrigerators, washing machines, sleeping bags, hangers, beds for children and adults, chairs, blankets, tables and water tanks.

Eventually, the whole cargo (almost 200 tonnes) will be distributed by Red Cross employees among Ukrainian citizens displaced from the temporarily occupied territory and the anti-terrorist operation zone.

As reported, 112 trucks with humanitarian aid from the German government crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border on Oct. 7. About a hundred more trucks with module houses for the construction of transit towns equipped for winter in Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions will arrive in the country later. Besides, another part of the humanitarian aid consisting of 30 trucks with module houses will arrive in Ukraine at the beginning of November.
