VIENNA - The Ukrainian businessman, the head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Dmytro Firtash, has announced the creation of the Agency for Ukraine's Modernization and raising the investment of at least $300 billion for reforms.

“My mission is to present the Agency for Ukraine’s Modernization. What do we expect from this agency, what do we want? As the Employers’ Federation, as trade unions we expect specific decisions, the specific program from it, which could give instructions necessary for the restoration of Ukraine. We, in fact, need a complete master plan for Ukraine. We have to set some bar and tell where Ukraine will be in 25 years,” he said at the International Forum “Ukraine Tomorrow” in Vienna.

According to Firtash, the agency is entrusted with the task within the next 200 days to prepare a 25-year program for Ukraine’s modernization, which will include the implementation of constitutional, institutional reforms, the reform of the country’s economy.

The first issue is the constitutional reform.

Secondly, he said it is important to study the situation and develop the model that would give more power to the regions.

The third issue is economic reforms. Any investor – whether it is a Ukrainian one or foreign – must understand that there is Ukraine, why he came to Ukraine, what he will receive for that. In addition, it is important to understand what investor the country needs and why it needs it.
