Moscow - Five civilians have been killed and another 16 have been injured as a result of fighting in Luhansk, eastern Ukraine, over the past 24 hours, the Luhansk city administration said on its Web site.

“Five civilians have been killed as a result of armed clashed in the
past 24 hours. Ambulances have responded to 137 calls, including 16
instances of gunshot wounds and injuries among the civilian population,”
it said.

22 residential buildings have been damaged in artillery strikes, the administration said.
