Five medical professionals have been killed, 50 have been injured, and four have gone missing during the anti-terrorist operation in Ukraine's east since its start, Ukrainian presidential adviser Olha Bohomolets said at a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Kyiv.

Bohomolets also said the president’s office had set up a center to coordinate aid to eastern Ukraine, the office said in a statement.

Currently the center is putting together a database of people who have suffered, been killed or lost contact with relatives. “To put the Coordination Center project into practice, we have volunteer groups working in various regions of Ukraine and directly in the operation zone,” Bohomolets said.

She pointed out that aid in the east, especially assistance to people with heavy injuries who need lengthy treatment and rehabilitation, was particularly important now that the cold season is coming up.

“The coordination center will soon compile a definitive list of urgent needs, pass it over to the embassies of other countries,” she said.
