Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered by December 2013 the development and approval of a mechanism for attracting new airlines to the Ukrainian market, including low-cost air carriers.

The order is contained in the National Action Plan for 2013 on the implementation of the Program of Economic Reforms for 2010-2014

The program, entitled “A Rich Society, a Competitive Economy, an Effective State,” has been approved under a decree of the president decree and published on his Web site.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, the Infrastructure Ministry and the State Aviation Service are responsible for the execution of the order.

The expected effect of the implementation of such a mechanism is the starting of flights by five new low-cost airlines in Ukraine.
