Foreign fans took great interest in excursions to the Chornobyl area during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, but not all of them managed to visit the area because of the time-consuming registration procedure.
According to the head of the information center at the official fan zone in Kyiv, Director of the Mysterious Kiev Agency Arseniy Finberh, some 10 to 30 people every day asked at the information centers about excursions to the Chornobyl area.
"Unfortunately, the state regulation of these excursions does not allow us to organize excursions in one day. According to state rules, the registration of a group takes 10 days before the trip," Finberh said.
Due to this only those fans that ordered such excursions in advance managed to visit the Chornobyl area.
