Ukraine has welcomed the United Nations Security Council's resolution on the situation in Lybia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said.

"Tonight, according to Kyiv time, the Security Council of the United Nations Organization adopted a resolution on the situation in Lybia… Ukraine welcomes the provisions of the resolution," he said during a lecture for students of Kyiv Institute of International Relations on March 18.

Hryschenko noted that the resolution forbids any military occupation of Lybia but allows the states taking measures to protect citizens and residential areas under threat of attack.

"Ukraine will adhere to the first and the second resolutions of the UN Security Council," he said.
