The number of trips made by citizens of the Netherlands to Ukraine during summer 2012 grew 81%. In particular, the number of trips to Kyiv by the Dutch increased by 67%.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s information policy
department, Oleh Voloshyn, said in Kyiv on Tuesday that, according to
the Embassy of the Netherlands, the number of trips to Eastern Europe by
its nationals went up by 10% over summer in 2012.

Voloshyn added that the majority of the trips to Ukraine were made in
the period following the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

“Such an increase is a serious sign of the fact that our country was a
positive discovery for many Dutch people during the Euro 2012,” he
said.

As reported, Dutch football fans lived in a special “orange camp” in
Kharkiv during the Euro 2012. The Dutch football team played three Euro
2012 group matches in Kharkiv.
