Ukraine is interested in further cooperation with the European Union in the energy sphere, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Oleksandr Dykusarov, has said.
"Ukraine attaches significant importance to further cooperation with the EU in the energy sphere, particularly on the modernization of [Ukraine's] gas transport system, which will help to strengthen the energy security of Europe," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
According to Dykusarov, the priority tasks for mutual cooperation between Ukraine and the EU for the next few months include the transfer to the implementation stage of the dialogue with the EU on the introduction of visa free travel for Ukrainians, as well as implementation of addenda to agreements on a simplified procedure for issuing visas.
