Ukraine is not planning to evacuate its diplomats from Libya, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

"I can confirm that Ukrainian diplomats will work as long as there is the need to assist Ukrainian citizens in this country," he said at a briefing on Tuesday, when asked whether Ukraine is planning to close its embassy in Libya.

The diplomat said that the employees of Ukrainian diplomatic offices were risking their safety for the sake of ensuring the safety of Ukrainian citizens.

"In fact, they are working under fire," Dykusarov said.

He noted that the Ukrainian embassy had not had its own security guards for a certain period of time.
