Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has appointed former General Manager of Microsoft Ukraine Dmitry Shymkiv as presidential administration's deputy head for administrative, social and economic reform, the presidential press service said.

“I’d like to introduce the man who’ll be in charge of reform and who I trust as president,” Poroshenko said during a meeting with representatives of civil society on July 9.

One of Shymkiv’s first tasks will be the introduction of e-governance at the presidential administration, Poroshenko said.

“A single platform and an intercommunication site for the implementation of reform and consolidation [of power of] the president, the government, the Verkhovna Rada, and, most importantly, civil society” will be created on the basis of the presidential administration, Poroshenko said.

Shymkiv is the very person who should act on behalf of the president for a dialogue within this quadruple alliance, the president said. “I am confident that the creation and streamlining of our united team will be a priority task,” he added.

As previously reported, General Manager of Microsoft Ukraine Shymkiv resigned on Wednesday. Microsoft Ukraine Director of Public Sector, Education and Science Nadezhda Vasylieva was tapped to head the company as interim general manager.
