Four Donbas civilians have been killed in artillery fire opened by militants in the past 24 hours, Donetsk regional police said.

The attacks were carried out against Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, the village of Opytne, Pisky, Verkhniotoretske, Vodiane, Yasynuvata district, and Novhorodske in Dzerzhinsk district, police said on its website on July 19.

Four people were killed in artillery shelling: three in Avdiyivka and one in Vodiane.

Also, four people, in Pervomaiske and Verkhnetoretske, have been injured. “Among those injured is a little girl, born 2006,” the police spokesperson said.

Police have launched criminal inquiries into these incidents.

For his part, Donetsk regional police chief Viacheslav Abroskin said that militants carried out a mortar attack against residential buildings in Maryinka on July 19.

“A shell attack near Moskalevsky Street caused various injuries among civilians, including two men, born 1952 and 1964, and a woman, born 1962,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.
