Fighting is taking place near the villages of Katerynivka and Stakhanovets in Luhansk Oblast; according to preliminary reports, four Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and two more injured, the head of Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration Hennadiy Moskal said.

“Today, at 7.05 p.m., in the second half of the day, fighting flared up between terrorists and the Ukrainian military near Katerynivka and Stakhanovets, which is right on the dividing line. At first the militants fired mortars and cannons at our positions from the occupied Pervomaisk and Stakhanov, followed by close combat. According to preliminary data, four Ukrainian soldiers were killed, another two are injured (one severely),” according to a statement posted on Moskal’s website.

Earlier the press center for the military operation in southeastern Ukraine reported a two-hour fight near Katerynivka.
