Simferopol – A fourth criminal case has been opened against former Chairman of the Crimean Parliament Anatoliy Hrytsenko.

The autonomy’s prosecutor’s office reported on Feb. 24 that the pre-trial investigation had uncovered new allegedly illegal actions performed by Hrytsenko while he held the post of chairman of Lenine District State Administration. The ex-speaker is accused of illegally allocating land plots owned by the state-run Lenine Forestry organization.

"As a result of the illegal actions by the head of the district state administration, a forest territory 3.6 hectares in area was illegally leased to a limited liability company, which was unreasonably exempt from paying reimbursements for the loss of 0.5 hectares of forest. The head of the district state administration is also accused of abuse of office during the allocation of material aid, which caused damages to the state of Hr 70,000," the press service said.

The criminal case was opened under Part 3 Article 365 (the first charge) and Part 2 Article 364 (the second charge) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported, Hrytsenko is charged with abuse of office due to illegal activities with land owned by the Azovsky military farm and the property of the Russia sanatorium in Yalta that belong to the Supreme Council of Crimea.

On Jan. 27, the Central District Court of Simferopol ordered Hrytsenko to be detained for two months.
