No they did not. They got what Yushchenko allowed them to have. Ukraine wanted to be a democratic state. Yushchenko opposed Ukraine adopting democratic reform.

Yushchenko set back Ukraine's democratic development decades of not generations. He was the biggest fool.

The Ukrainian people voted for Yanukovych lies. Yanukovych is turning Ukraine into a bananna republic police state.

Hanna "Baba Yaga" Herman states "economic freedom is the ultimate guarantee of freedom". This is a form of "doublespeak" meaning that POR Oligarchs have the freedom to rape and pillage Ukraine to line their own pocket books. One should make note that she makes absolutely no mention of human rights and the dignity of the indivdual.

People no longer trust democracy following the Yushchenko years of constant inflation, backstabbing, greed and destructive personal political ambitions. Ukraine is not ready for democracy!

Its ready but Ukraine was denied the opportunity to become a democratic state. Yushchenko was opposed to Ukraine adopting democratic reform.

If Ukraine wants rot join the EU then it should adapt European values and European models of Parliamentary democracy as rec0mmneded by PACE and the Venice Commission.

Ukraine will NEVER be a free independent democratic state as long as it is beholden to Presidential authority.

The report just confirms what has been obvious to anyone following the development in Ukraine since Yanukovych took power - except the brainless PoR fanatics, of course. Will be entertaining to hear the excuses from Hanna Hermann, trying to explain how Freedom House has misunderstood the Ukrainian democracy.

Freedom House is a US funded think tank. It has a distinct bias in its assessment and reporting staff ed by US Peace corp rejects. They have no idea of the meaning of democracy let alone Freedom. Try reading there latest reports on Ukraine and you will see just how amateurish they really are.

Dictators, despots, authoritarians, Yanukovych and Party of Regions have no idea of freedom and respect for human rights. Tymoshenko and Lutsenko are examples of Yanukovych respect for democracy.

It is an OUTRAGE what Yanukovych and his mafia friends have done to our nation in such a short span of time! What is wrong with our people to let this happen? Do we have to much Yuschenko genetic DNA in our genes? Or is it the radioactive Chornobyl environment? Has the genocidal legacy of Communism ruined our souls forever? The Kniazhs couldn't do it. The Kozaks couldn't do it! The Schevchenko & later the Hrushevsky elite couldn't do it. Halychyna couldn't do it. What is to become of us...perpetual nation of sheep???
