The Vradiyivka prosecutor fired by general
prosecutor Viktor Pshonka has received a new job
, Ukrainska Pravda reports. Sergiy
Mochalko, the former prosecutor of Vradiivka district, was fired last week after
his mishandling of a case involving the gang rape of a 29 year old woman,
allegedly by local police officers. Mochalko has reportedly landed a new job at
the prosecutor`s office in Kryvoozersky district, Mykolaiv Oblast.

The Kyiv police department opened criminal cases
following the fight in front of the Kyiv City Council,
during which two law enforcement
officers were injured, Korrespondent reports.
The dispute erupted after protesters demanded the council session be closed,
given it that it lacks democratic legitimacy. Ukraine’s capital has been
deprived of the constitutionally guaranteed right to elect its leadership since
the previous mayor resigned in 2012.

Reforms launched by the Cabinet of Ministers
could unblock European Union budgetary support for Ukraine
, writes Kommersant. EU support for
Ukraine, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program, has been
blocked since 2011 due to Ukraine not meeting the necessary requirements.
Ukrainian authorities hope the reforms in state finance management could unblock
€100 million ($130 million) in frozen funds, and pave the way to
negotiate a further €150 million in support. However, Brussels has already
warned that €70 million of the allocated funds has been irreversibly lost, as
the timeframe for part of the project is past.

An Mi-2 helicopter crashed in Kherson oblast

and was destroyed in the subsequent fire. Three crew members were promptly
removed from the site, before sustaining any injuries.

The government will now be able to confiscate
Ukrainian drivers` old cars

Segodnya. The Rada adopted a bill about recycling cars older than 15 years,
which can be potentially dangerous for the environment.
