Halyna Kolotnytska, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's personal nurse, who recently came back to Ukraine, apparently plans to return to Libya when the situation stabilizes, journalist Vladislav Voloshyn, who talked to Kolotnytska on a plane carrying them from Tripoli to Kyiv on Feb. 27, told Interfax.
"She was flying together with her [female] friend from Tripoli and was talking to her. During the conversation, Kolotnytska defended Gaddafi, whom they called ‘daddy’, and claimed that the Libyan leader is still in control of the situation and will sort everything out," Voloshyn said.
WikiLeaks earlier published a classified report by U.S. Ambassador to Libya Gene Cretz implying that Gaddafi had a Ukrainian nurse, who was his mistress.
Voloshyn said Kolotnytska declined to give him an interview, but he insisted it was clear from her conversation with the friend that she planned to return to Tripoli after the situation there normalizes.
Halyna Kolotnytska’s daughter Tetiana said earlier that her mother had left for Libya nine years before, worked first at a hospital and then joined Gaddafi’s staff.
