Gazprom will require prepayment for gas from Naftogaz Ukrainy if the company does not repay its debt for previously supplied gas by June 9, but a new deferral of this measure has not been ruled out if some other agreements are reached, the Russian gas giant's CEO, Alexei Miller said on television station Rossiya 24.

Asked what will happen if the Ukrainian state company does not pay off its debt by June 9 as was agreed in the course of June 2 negotiations with the participation of the European Commission, Miller said that in that case prepayment will be imposed if “agreements that will help to postpone the introduction of prepayment are not reached.”
