MOSCOW – Gazprom still has not received money from Naftogaz Ukrainy for Russian gas, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told Interfax.
“There wasn’t [any] yesterday,” he said.
Earlier the minister said that gas supplies to Ukraine will begin immediately after the receipt of funds from Naftogaz. Meanwhile, already at the end of September at a trilateral meeting between Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that the necessary $500 million for the purchase of 2 billion cubic meters of Russian gas was already in Naftogaz’s special account.
