TEHRAN - The prepaid gas amount will be enough for Ukraine for a few days, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told reporters.

In reply to the journalists’ question whether the prepayment has been received from Naftogaz, Miller said: “No, it did not come.”

“The prepaid gas amounts are about to end. I believe that now it is enough for two days, may be for two days,” the Gazprom CEO said.

He said that he had no information that Ukraine was going to make an advance payment.

“If there is no prepayment, gas supplies to Ukraine will be halted,” Miller said.

He said that Ukraine was presently taking a very little amount of gas, absolutely little.

“Even with such minimal gas offtakes by Ukraine the prepaid gas is left for a few days. Therefore, if there is no prepayment, gas supplies will be stopped,” the Gazprom CEO said.

Miller said that Ukraine was increasing gas offtake from underground storage facilities.

“[We witness] a quite considerable increase. Certainly, this cannot but cause concerns, because gas from underground storage facilities will be primarily needed for Ukraine to pass the autumn-winter maximum in January-February,” Miller said.
