You're reading: Georgia and Ukraine will cooperate in development of Baltic-Black Sea transport corridor

Tbilisi - The representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the development of the Baltic Sea-Black Sea transport corridor. 

“The memorandum aims at promoting competitiveness in the transport corridor between the Baltic Sea and the Black Seas and attracting additional cargo,” reads a press release of the economic authority of Georgia.

According to the press service, the document was signed by Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Mikheil Janelidze and Ukrainian Deputy Minister Oksana Reiter.

The report also notes that during the visit of the Ukrainian deputy minister of infrastructure a meeting of the Georgian-Ukrainian joint commission on road transport was held, during which the parties agreed on the introduction from 2015 of new universal reusable permits that will allow carriers from both countries in a simplified way to make international freight transportation.
