Kyiv -  German-based A+S Consult GmbH's Ukrainian division has been hired to develop traffic planning for Kyiv and its suburbs, Kyiv Town Hall's press service reported.

A contract was signed between Kyiv City State Administration’s Urban Development and Architecture Department with A+S Ukraine LLC, following an open tender.

A+S Ukraine LLC will design basic software-based planning for personal and public transport: street transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams) and off-street (the subway, heavy rail, light rail, the funicular) in the city of Kyiv and its commuter belt.

The special software – the Kyiv Traffic Modeling Information System – will be developed based on the PTV Visum platform, designed for traffic planning. PTV trainers with successful experience in developing transport models of cities with a population of over 3 million people will work on the development of Kyiv’s model.

The Kyiv transportation model itself will be developed in close cooperation with experts from the World Bank.

PTV Visum is the world’s leading software for traffic analyses, forecasts and GIS-based data management.
